According to Iranian state media and local utility officials, the overnight strikes directly targeted and leveled two concrete water storage reservoirs—with a combined capacity of 2,500 cubic meters—and shattered the surrounding mechanical pumping systems in Sirik County.

The Catalyst: The United States launched the overnight cross-border strikes after an American Army Apache helicopter was shot down over Gulf waters.
US Stance: The US military's Central Command stated it used precision munitions to strike legitimate military infrastructure, including radar installations and air defense networks near the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's Position: Iranian officials strongly condemned the action, calling the destruction of the civilian reservoirs a "calculated war crime" aimed at the daily survival and health of ordinary citizens. The situation is exceptionally dire because the Kouhestak and Bemani districts lack sufficient groundwater reserves to offset the loss.
