India Slams Pakistan Over Deadly Airstrikes on Afghan Territory.

India Condemns Pakistan's Airstrikes on Afghanistan, Terms It a 'Blatant Act of Aggression'

JUN 29 2026, Monday

NEW DELHI — India has strongly condemned the cross-border airstrikes conducted by the Pakistani military inside Afghan territory over the weekend, which resulted in significant civilian casualties. Labeling the operations a "blatant act of aggression," New Delhi stated that the military action poses a direct threat to regional stability.

The official statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) comes after Pakistani fighter jets launched overnight strikes targeting multiple residential areas in Afghanistan's Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provinces. The United Nations and Afghan officials have confirmed the deaths of dozens of civilians, including women and children.

"This blatant act of aggression by Pakistan is an assault on Afghanistan's sovereignty and a direct threat to regional peace and stability," said MEA Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.

India Accuses Pakistan of 'Reckless Behavior'

In a sharply worded diplomatic rebuke, New Delhi stated that the cross-border escalation highlights Islamabad’s ongoing pattern of reckless geopolitical actions. The Indian government accused Pakistan of attempting to divert attention away from its escalating internal political and security crises by initiating external conflicts.

The MEA statement added that Pakistan's attempts to externalize its domestic failures through desperate acts of cross-border violence would ultimately prove futile and only serve to worsen regional insecurity.

Deep Condolences and Solidarity with Kabul

Expressing deep solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, India conveyed its profound condolences to the bereaved Afghan families who lost their loved ones in the aerial bombardments. New Delhi also offered prayers for the rapid recovery of the hundreds of civilians reported injured in the strikes.

Reiterating its historical ties with the Afghan people, India emphasized its "unwavering support" for safeguarding Afghanistan's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence in the face of external aggression.
